clients' expectations. Our Mission is to be an innovative, cost effective,
trustworthy facilitator of real estate transactions which delight both
buyers and sellers.
In addition, the following are a list of
other qualities that we believe you must have to be successful in the real
estate profession and to fit into our company culture:
- Someone who is good with people and
enjoys working with them
- Persistence
- Excellent follow-up ability
- A self-starter, who does not
require others to do their thinking
- Enthusiastic/Optimistic – more than
most jobs, real estate is what you make it
- A good organizer
- Able to do several things at once
- Good communications skills
(well-spoken and well-written)
- Willing to take responsibility for
mistakes and learn from them
You must be very knowledgeable about
Greenwich. You need to know about schools, churches, local and state
government, public utilities, crime rates and local police, environmental
issues, future town developments, transportation, shopping, day care,
soccer, homeowners associations, town ordinances (such as setbacks and
fences) builders, architects, service people, plumbers, electricians, tree
removal services and Realtors in neighboring towns. In general, your
clients – especially those new to our area – must be able to depend on you
for valuable information about almost anything related to buying or living
in Greenwich.
To serve yourself, your customers and
your clients, you must stay competitive in your profession. We believe
that continuing education is the key to staying competitive. The world is
progressing rapidly and you must progress with it.
We encourage our associates to:
- Attend the National Association of
Realtors and the Connecticut Association of Realtors
conferences on a regular basis.
- Get your GRI designation.
- Get your ABR designation.
You are expected to comply strictly with
all Connecticut and national real estate laws as well as with the Code of
Ethics and Standards of Practice of the National Association of Realtors.
You are expected to believe in and love
Greenwich, its facilities and its school system. You are expected to live
in Greenwich and to participate in local volunteer organizations. This is
good for you, good for Greenwich and good for real estate.
You are expected to be – or become
capable with – the latest technologies, including how to use the latest
Multiple Listing Service computer system and how to use personal
computers.
You are expected to want to work on real
estate full-time.
Good real estate agents keep
confidences. You are expected to keep your associates, your clients and
your company's secrets. This is not a place for gossips.
You are expected to enjoy being a team
player. This means backing up Realtor Associates, so they can provide
better service to their clients.
You are expected to comply with the
letter and the spirit of the National Association of Realtors Code of
Ethics as well as all of the company’s policies and procedures.
